Localised Basti Therapies
Sthanik Basti/Vasti is a procedure of holding medicated oil at a particular site to provide a penetrating effect at that site. Based on the site at which oil is retained, it receives various names like kati basti (at lumber region/back), griva basti (on the neck), janu basti (on the knees), and hridya basti (at the site heart).
- Basti involves creating a compartment or reservoir over the affected area using a dough made from black gram flour.
- Warm medicated oil is then poured into this compartment and retained for a fixed duration.
