Paralysis

When something interferes with the nerve signals to the muscles, it can cause paralysis, the inability to make voluntary movements. Common causes of paralysis are stroke, spinal cord injury, and nerve diseases, such as multiple sclerosis. Bell's palsy causes temporary facial paralysis. Paraplegia affects both legs while quadriplegia affects all limbs.
